Hello guys! In this article, we have to discuss one of the common issues that android users were always complaining like unable to connect to Wi-Fi after the update. Regarding this issue there are number of reasons we need to consider why your phone refused to connect on Wi-Fi after system update. Meaning, even though how powerful and sophisticated your phone is, it's still not perfect and could experience any issues every now and then.

We have to figure it out all possibilities and consider everything that might causing the issue. There are times when this problem occur is when the files and data are corrupted due to system update. On other the hand, if you have incompatible apps installed and affects the system that would be the reason that your phone could not connect to your home Wi-Fi. So, to start with, follow these steps:

Step 1: Reboot your Galaxy S5 in Safe Mode
Sometimes when an incompatible app running in the new system there is a possibility that the other apps including the pre-installed ones will be affected and could not perform its task and caused it to crash without apparent reason. So, the purpose of booting your phone in safe mode is to determine if one of your apps is causing the issue. It will disable temporarily all third-party apps while the pre-installed ones will be running in the system.
  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When ‘Samsung Galaxy S5’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
While in this mode, observe closely if your Google Play Store will still crash. But if the issue continues, follow the next step.

Step 2: Wipe the System Cache Partition
In this instance, we have to delete all system files and data stored in the directory of your phone for that may be the reason why your Play Store is crashing. This will cleanup the directory of the device and creates newer and compatible files and data in the system. Don't you worry, this method won't harm nor erase your important files and data saved in the internal storage. Here's how:
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  6. Press the Power key to select.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power key to restart the device.
After the procedure open your Play Store and see if it won't crash. If nothing's changed or the issue still occur, jump over to the next procedure.

Step 3: Perform Master Reset
Since, your phone had been updated there is a chance that the system got corrupted during the process and caused an issue on your Play Store. So, this time, we will try to do the so-called master reset. But remember, doing a reset is more complicated compared to other procedures because you need more time in creating a backup in all your files saved on your phone. But the good thing about is, if your device is experiencing software related issue, then, this will sure fix it. 
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
