Before we proceed, if you have other issues with your device you can connect with us by giving us detailed information about the issue by filing up the form at the bottom right-corner and we will do our best to get a resolution for you as soon as possible.

There are a lot of reasons why your Galaxy S5 keeps on crashing and it also depends on the usage. Typically, the issue is mostly device performance, insufficient RAM or hardware. In this post, we will try to find out and eliminate the possible cause of the issue.

Force Restart your Galaxy S5
This is a very basic troubleshooting step that most users ignore or even forget to try. In some cases, a simple restart can fix performance issues because some applications are closed or stop during the process especially those that are running in the background. To do this, simply press and hold the power button and select turn off or restart icon.

Clear your Galaxy S5's cache partition
This process is simply to refresh the system and removed the temporary files especially those that are corrupted and not only can cause performance issue but it keeps your device crashing all the time. To do this, we arranged some steps for others that are not familiar on how to do it.
  1. Turn off your S5.
  2. In order to shut down your Galaxy S5 you can either press the power button and select “power off” or you can press and hold the power key for more than 10 seconds.
  3. Wait a few seconds and then proceed to the steps below.
  4. Press power, volume up and home buttons at the same time, simultaneously.
  5. Keep pressing these keys until recovery mode is being displayed on your Galaxy S5.
  6. In recovery mode, use volume up and down buttons in order to scroll up and down; also use power button in order to select your option.
  7. You can then reboot into Android by selecting Reboot System Now.
Boot to Safe Mode
Now, this process is not totally a troubleshooting step to eliminate the issue but simply to identify if the issue is caused by a third party app. This mode only allows the default app installed in the system and all third party apps are disabled by doing so, it is easy to determine if the problem is coming from the default or third party app. For those who are not familiar on how to boot their device to safe mode, follow our steps below:
  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When ‘Samsung Galaxy S5′ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
If your device runs normally while on the safe mode, it only means that cause of the issue is because of the third party app. To identify which app is causing the issue is a bit tricky and that is why you have to remember those application you installed before you experience the issue. Here's our suggestions to what you have to do:
  1.  Boot to safe mode.
  2. Go to Settings > Applications.
  3. Locate and uninstall the most recent apps you install.
  4. Restart your device and boot normally.
  5. See if the performance is improved.
Factory Reset your Galaxy S5
If all the suggestions above didn't work, then you can go ahead and reset your device. Now, this is only an optional step if you don't want to then you can go ahead and skip this step. Resetting your device requires you to make a backup to all important files in your device and save it to a separate storage. This is the easiest way to delete everything and return to default and most of the time it's the most successful step to fix performance issue. Here's how to do it:
  1. Power down the Galaxy S5.
  2. Press and hold the Volume up button, the Home button, and the Power button together until you see the Android on screen.
  3. Use Volume down to highlight the wipe data/factory reset option and press the Power button to select it.
  4. Use Volume down again to highlight Yes – delete all user data and press Power to select it.
  5. Use the Power button to select Reboot system now.
  6. When the S5 restarts it should be completely wiped and ready to set up again.
I hope this post helps.
