Quick Fix Samsung Galaxy S3 "Facebook, has stopped" error

Quick Fix Samsung Galaxy S3 "Facebook, has stopped" error
Hello guys! In this article,I'll tackle one the rampant app-related issues that Samsung users were always complaining about, which is the "Facebook, has stopped" error. Usually, this error message will show up if the app is functioning abnormally or crashing for some reasons. As a matter of fact, this type of issue is common not just on S3 users but to other high-end android devices as well. So, the best thing that we can do now is to figure it out the real problem by doing some troubleshooting procedures on your device. To do so, here are the methods that we suggest you to perform:

Step 1: Reset Facebook App
Like any app-related issue it is imperative that you should eliminate first the suspicion that corrupt cache and data triggered the error message to appear on the screen. Through this method, your Facebook app will be back to its default settings and newer caches and data will be generated after resetting the app.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the More tab.
  • Tap Application Manager.
  • Swipe to the All Screen.
  • Tap the desired application.
  • Tap clear Data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear Cache.
After the procedure, open your Facebook and see if the error still showing up. If so, proceed to the next method.

Step 2: Run in Safe Mode
In this mode, we have to verify if one of your downloaded applications affects the performance of the phone and triggered the problem. This will disable all third-party apps while the pre-installed ones left running in the system. So, while your phone is in this mode observe closely if the error showing up. If not, then, it is clear that you need to uninstall some apps to get rid the issue.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When "Samsung Galaxy Slll" appears on the screen, release the Power key immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume Down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • "Safe mode" will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume Down key when you see "Safe mode."
But while in this mode and Facebook still function abnormally, move over to the next step.

Step 3: Delete the Cache Partition
Deleting the cache partition is one of the most effective method that you can do on your phone. This will reset your phone's directory and erase all stored files and data so that brand new ones will be created. Although there is no assurance if the issue will be fixed after this step but there reports from other android users that their issue was resolved after they performed this step. Here's how:
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Power, Volume Up and Home keys at the same time until the device vibrates.
  • Let go of the Power button but continue to press and and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons until the 'Android System Recovery' screen appears.
  • Press the Volume Down button to choose 'Wipe cache partition.'
  • Press the Power key to select it.
After the method, launch the app and see if the issue is gone. If the error still happening, follow the next step.

Step 4: Reset your Galaxy S3
Since, all procedures failed to resolve the issue the last option that you can do is to reset your phone. This will bring your phone back to its factory default and your files and data saved will be erased. So, before you can do the steps be sure to transfer everything to your SD card or Personal computer to make it easier for you to restore after the method.
  • Turn off your Galaxy S3.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys simultaneously.
  • Wait for your phone to vibrate, then release the Power button.
  • Wait for the 'Android System Recovery' screen appears, then release the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  • Press the Volume Down button until the 'Wipe Cache/ Factory reset' option is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to select the option.
  • Press the Volume Down button and highlight 'Delete all user data.'
  • Press the Power button once again to select the option. Your phone will then perform the reset process and display "Reboot System now".
  • Press the Power button to select the reboot option and complete the master reset.
