Quick fix Galaxy S4 "Twitter has stopped" error

Quick fix Galaxy S4 "Twitter has stopped" error

Hello guys! Welcome to another discussion about the Galaxy S4 issue that users often complaining, which is the "Twitter has stopped"error. If you are an android user in any variants it's not far that you can also encounter the same issue every now and then on your phone. So, this time, that's what we have to discuss to determine the real problem why this error message appears on your phone screen. Although this is mostly a minor problem but as an android user I understand how frustrating it is especially if the error will suddenly show up while you are using the device.

In most cases, error messages like this appears if there's an incompatible downloaded app running and affects the device performance and triggered the issue. In addition, if the files are corrupt or obsolete that would be another factor to consider that this problem is happening. But since, we don't know what caused the problem all you need to do is to figure it out the real problem through performing the troubleshooting procedures on your phone. That being said, here are the methods that you should perform:

Step 1: Restart your phone
If you didn't tried this procedure, then, this is the time that you should do it. This will refresh phone's memory and closes all running apps in the background. Just remove the battery and press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. After you do so, turn on your S4 and open your Twitter app and see if the message will still show up. If it is, proceed to the next step.

Step 2:Delete the System Cache Partition
Normally, after the restarting the device and the issue still happening the next thing that we recommend is to delete the cache and data of the app. But this time, instead of doing that we suggest you to immediately delete the cache partition of the device. This will reset the files directory of your phone, meaning, all cache and data that the device are using will be wiped out so that newer ones will be created. Don't you worry, only the files and data in the partition will be deleted and not your important files saved on your phone.

  1. Turn off your device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
  3. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates but continue holding the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  4. When the Android System recovery screen appears, release both the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  5. Using the Volume Down button highlight 'wipe cache partition'.
  6. Press the Power button to select the option.
  7. The phone will automatically restart once the cache and data are wiped out.
After wiping the cache partition open again your Twitter and see if the error message will still show up. If the error is gone, then, obviously corrupt files and data triggered the problem. However, if the problem still happening after you do so, jump over to the next step.

Step 3:Perform a Reset
This procedure should be the last thing that you can do if the first-two methods failed to resolve the issue. This will delete all your important files and data saved on your phone like: music, contacts, photos and downloaded applications. So, before you perform the steps we suggest you to create first a back up because all of it will be wiped out. But the good thing about it, if this is just a minor-app issue, then, this step will surely fix it. Here's how:
  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
  3. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates, but continue to press and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  5. Using the Volume Down button highlight "wipe data/factory reset".
  6. Press the Power button to select the option.
  7. Using the Volume Down button again, highlight 'delete all user data'.
  8. Press the Power button to select the option.
  9. Once the reset is complete, choose 'Reboot System now'.
  10. Press the Power button to restart the phone.
I hope this post helps. But if the error message after the reset, then, you can bring your phone to the shop and let the tech fix it for you.
