Quick fix on Galaxy S3 that keeps restarting

Quick fix on GalaxyS3 that keeps restarting
Restarting issue is quite common in Galaxy S3 for the past several years. As a matter of fact, we received tons of reports about this type of issue complaining that their phone suddenly keeps of restarting without apparent reason. But since the device is capable to power on there is a chance that this is just a minor software problem and could be fixed without bringing it to the tech.

On the other hand, if your device had been dropped to a hard surface or has physical damage, then, there is no point of doing any troubleshooting procedure because your phone might have a hardware issue and you need to find an expert to do the job. However, if your Galaxy S3 doesn't have any physical damage and the issue occur out of the blue, then, there is a chance that this is only a simple glitch in the system. So, to start the troubleshooting, follow these methods:

Step 1: Perform Battery-pull procedure
The purpose of doing this method is to refresh phone's memory and close all apps running in the background. Sometimes, due to several applications running in the background the firmware could no longer cater all of it that resulted the device to restart without apparent reason. So, this time, all you need to do is remove the battery of the device and press the Power key for 10 seconds to discharge all stored electricity in the hardware components. After you do so, place it back the battery and turn on your device. However, if the issue still happening after the method, jump over to the next step.

Step 2: Delete the Cache Partition
More often than not, restarting issue is also caused by corrupted system files and data, wherein the firmware could no longer recognized it once it is loaded and triggered the issue to occur. So, what we have to do now is to delete all files and data stored in the partition so that newer ones will be created. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time until the device vibrates.
  • Let go the Power button but continue to press and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
  • Press the Volume Down button to choose 'wipe cache partition.'
  • Press the Power key to select it.
After the method, observe closely and see if the issue still happening. If it is, then, proceed to the next option.

Step 3: Perform a reset
In this instance, we have to bring the device back to its factory default by doing a reset. In other words, all files and data stored in the internal storage of the phone will be deleted. The good thing is, this step is very effective and could easily fix if your phone is experiencing software-related issue. But before you do the method, be sure to transfer all your important files and data to you SD card or personal computer.
  • Turn off your Galaxy S3.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
  • Wait for your phone to vibrate, then release the Power button.
  • Wait for the Android System recovery screen appears, then release the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  • Press the Volume Down button until the 'Wipe data/ factory reset' option is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to select the option.
  • Press the Volume Down button and highlight 'Delete all user data.'
  • Press the Power button once again to select the option. Your phone will then perform the reset process and display "Reboot system now."
  • Press the Power button to select the reboot option and complete the master reset.
However, after you do the reset and your phone still restarts on its own, the last thing that you can do is to bring your device to the shop and let the tech check it for you for your phone might have a hardware problem.
