Quick fix on Galaxy S4 front camera is getting dark 

Hello readers! In this article, I'll tackle one the issues that Galaxy S4 users were complaining about saying that their front camera is functioning abnormally. For several months, we received number of complaints about this issue coming from the users asking for help on how to resolve the issue that they are experiencing. This time, we have to isolate first the problem through performing the basic troubleshooting procedures and consider all possibilities until we can formulate a solution and resolve the issue. Here are the methods that we want you to do:

Step 1: Perform battery-procedure
Doing this method will eliminate the suspicion that a glitch in the system is causing the issue. Through forced reboot phone's memory will be refreshed and closes all applications left running in the system. Just remove the battery and press the Power key for 10 seconds and wait until the device reboots. After you do so, open your camera app and see if the problem continues. If so, then move to the next procedure.

Step 2: Boot your phone in Safe mode
This will disable all third-party apps and only the pre-installed ones will be running in the system. So, while in this mode and your camera function normally, then, a culprit is causing the issue. Uninstall all your third-party apps starting from the recent one you installed until the issue is fixed.

1. Turn off your Galaxy S4.
2. Press and hold the Power button.
3. Once the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo appears, release the Power button.
4. After you release the Power button, press and hold the Volume Down key.
5. Continue holding the Volume Down key until the phone has completed the reboot process.
6. If safe mode appears, at the left corner of the screen, release the Volume Down key. Otherwise, repeat the process the until you can boot the phone in safe mode.

Step 3: Wipe the Cache Partition

After booting in safe mode and the issue still happening, then, we suggest you to wipe the cache partition. We will have to delete all old caches in the directory so that new ones will be replaced. Follow these steps:

1. Turn the phone off completely.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key and Power key at the same time.
3. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates but continue holding on to the Volume Up and Home keys.
4. Using the Volume Down key, highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
5. Press the Power button to select the option.
6. The phone will automatically restart once the cache and data are wiped out.

If this procedure can't resolve the problem, follow the last step.

Step 4: Master reset

This method is more complicated compare to other procedures because you may lose all your files and data once you follow the steps. The good thing is, if your device was bugged and preventing your phone from functioning normally, then, this step might fix it. But before you do so, we recommend you to create first a backup for all your files and data.

1. Turn off the phone completely.
2. Press and hold the Power, Home and Volume Up keys at the same time.
3. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates, but continue holding on to the Volume Up and Home keys.
4. When the Android System Screen appears, release both Volume Up and Home keys.
5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
6. Press the Power button to select it.
7. Using the Volume Down button again, highlight 'delete all user data.'
8. Press the Power key to select it.
9. Once the reset is complete, choose 'Reboot System Now.'
10. Press the Power button to restart the device.
