Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S5 Snapchat crashing after system update

Snapchat issue in android devices is not new and for the past several years lots of android users were complaining about this problem. In this troubleshooting guide, I'll discuss the same issue to help users whose experiencing such problem with their Samsung Galaxy S5. The fact that the device is able to power on, there is a chance that this is just a software-related problem wherein the files and data of the device may be corrupted during the update process and caused the Snapchat app to crash without apparent reason. That being said, here are the methods that you should do:

Step 1: Restart your Galaxy 5
Occasionally, due to newly installed firmware lots of features and functionality were added to the firmware and might caused the application to crash. So, this time, we suggest you to perform the so-called soft reset or battery-pull procedure. The purpose of doing this method on your phone is to refresh device memory and close all applications running in the background. After you remove the battery press the Power key for 10 seconds to release all stored electricity from the hardware components. After you do so, power on your device and observe if the issue still continues. If so, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Wipe the System Cache Partition
This method is advisable to all android users especially if the firmware has been updated. This will remove all old and outdated files and data in the system so that newer caches will be generated that could run smoothly once the firmware have to use it again. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn the phone off.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons together: Power, Home and Volume Up buttons.
  3. Release the buttons once when the Android System Recovery menu appears.
  4. Use the Volume button to confirm selection.
  5. Select Reboot System Now option after deleting the cache. Wait for the phone to reboot.

However, if the issue still happening after clearing the system cache partition, then, you don't have a choice but to do master reset. Compared to the previous methods, this one is more complicated because all files and data you saved on your phone will be removed. But the good thing is, if the device is experiencing software-related problems or has been bugged, then, this procedure has a big chance to resolve the issue. But before you proceed to the steps make sure to create first a backup on your phone. Here's how to reset your Galaxy S5:

  1. Power Down the Galaxy S5.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together until you see the Android on screen.
  3. Use Volume Down to highlight the wipe data/ factory reset option and press the Power button to select it.
  4. Use Volume Down button again, highlight Yes- delete all user data and press the Power button to select it.
  5. Use the Power button to select Reboot system now.
  6. When the S5 restarts it should be completely wiped and ready to setup again.
I hope this post helps.
