Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S4 Facebook that keeps on crashing

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S4 Facebook that keeps on crashing

There are plenty of reasons that Facebook app is crashing without apparent reason. It could be due to some incompatible apps in the system or the cache and data of the phone had been outdated or corrupted especially if the firmware was updated. So, what we have to do now is to consider all possibilities that might causing this issue until we can formulate a solution and resolve the issue. That being said, here are the methods that you should do:

Step 1: Perform Battery-pull procedure
The purpose of doing this step is to refresh phone's memory and closes all apps running in the background that might causing the issue. So, if a glitch in the system triggered it, then, this method is very effective and might fixed it. Just remove the back cover and battery of the device and press the Power key for 10 seconds to release all electricity stored in the hardware components. After you do so, turn on your device and open your Facebook app. However, if the problem still continues, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Delete App's Cache and Data
There were reports from some users saying that after they cleared app's cache and data their Facebook app again function normally. So, in this step, we have to reset app's files and data so that newer ones will be created. Here's how:
  1. From Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More tab.
  4. Tap Application manager.
  5. Swipe left to view All tab.
  6. Scroll to and tap the application.
  7. Tap Clear Cache.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. Tap Clear Data.
After you do so, open your Facebook app and see if the issue persists. If the problem still happening, follow the next procedure.

Step 3: Wipe the System Cache Partition
Wiping the system cache partition is similar to the 2nd procedure that you performed the only difference is, in this method we have to delete the overall files and data of your Galaxy S4. Don't you worry, all your important files won't be deleted, instead, only the files and data in the partition will be removed so that fresher ones will be created.
  1. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
  2. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates but continue holding on to the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  3. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release both the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  4. Using the Volume Down key, highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  5. Press the Power button to select the option.
  6. The phone will automatically restart once cache and data are wiped out.
Step 4: Perform Master reset
However, after all those methods you performed and your Facebook app still crashing, then your last resort is to do a master reset. Doing this method is quite complicated because all your saved files and data will be deleted. In other words, your device will be back to its factory default and all bugs and files and data stored on your phone will be removed. So, before you have to follow the steps be sure to create first a backup for you to easily restore it if the issue is resolved. Here's how:
  1. Turn the phone off completely.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
  3. Release the Power button when the phone vibrates but continue holding on to the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release both the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight'wipe data/ factory reset.'
  6. Press the Power button to select it.
  7. Using the Volume Down button again, highlight 'delete all user data.'
  8. Press the Power key to select it.
  9. Once the reset is complete, choose 'Reboot System Now.'
  10. Press the Power button to restart the device.
I hope this post helps.
