Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working" issue

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working" issue

Like any other android devices, Samsung Galaxy S3 is also experiencing various of performance-related issues since it was released several years back. In this article, I'll be discussing the complaint we received recently from one of our readers saying that an error message 'Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working' appears once the Gallery app is launched.

Based on our experience this error message appears on the screen if the Gallery app is crashing. The good thing is, this is just a minor problem and no need for you to bring the device to the tech and let it fix the issue. In this instance, we have to isolate the issue through step by step procedure until we can determine what caused it and resolve the problem. Here are the steps that we suggest you to perform:

Step 1: Clear the Gallery Cache and data
Sometimes, if the cache and data of the app are obsolete that could be one of the reasons to consider that the Gallery app crashed when you have to launch it. So, to eliminate that suspicion what we have to do now is to delete its cache and data so that fresher ones will be created. Here's how:

  1. From any Home screen, Tap Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the More tab.
  4. Tap Application manager.
  5. Swipe left or right to display contents of the All tab.
  6. Tap the desired application.
  7. Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  8. Tap Clear Cache.
After the method, launch again your app and see if the error message will still show up. If that doesn't solve the issue, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Try to delete the System cache partition
This method is similar to the first one you performed on your phone the only difference is that you have to delete the device system files and data or the one responsible that your phone run smoothly every time you turn it on. Don't you worry, only the files and data in the partition will be deleted and your important files will remain intact.
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up key and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  7. With 'Reboot system now' is highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.
If the error message still appears after the clearing the system cache partition, jump over to the next method.

Step 3: Master reset your phone
This method is very effective especially if the device has a firmware-related issue. It will bring back your phone to its default settings and all your personal files will be erased once you do the reset. So, before you follow the steps, we recommend that you should transfer all your files and data to your computer or SD card to easily restore all of it if the issue is resolve.
  1. Turn off the device completely.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
  6. Press the Power to select it.
  7. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'delete all user data.'
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Like Samsung flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 also has a LED indicator located in the top-left corner in the front panel of your phone. The indicator emits three primary colors: Blue , Red and Green . The main purpose of the LED indicator is to notify you of the current condition or status of your phone. For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen. Believe it or not, it makes life a little easier if you knew the meaning of the colors and their rhythms.
