Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 "Unfortunately Keyboard has stopped working" issue

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 "Unfortunately Keyboard has stopped working" issue

If the message "Unfortunately keyboard has stopped working" appears on your screen the device is telling you that the keyboard app you are using is crashing. There are several reasons that this issue occur on your phone, it could be the files and data of the app had been corrupted or the firmware itself has an issue and affects the keyboard app and caused it to crash. But don't you worry, this is just a minor glitch in the system and it could be fixed through basic troubleshooting procedures. That being said, here are the methods that you should do:

Step 1: Delete the Cache and data of the app
Mostly, this issue occurs if the app's cache and data had been outdated especially if you do a system update on your phone. So, what we have to do is to delete the cache and data in the app so that newer ones will be created. Here's how:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the More tab.
  4. Tap the Application Manager.
  5. Swipe left or right to display contents of the All tab.
  6. Tap the desired application.
  7. Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  8. Tap Clear cache.
If the error message won't appear after clearing its cache and data, then obviously it's an outdated cache and data caused it. But if the issue persist, proceed to the next method.

Step 2: Try to delete the System cache partition of your Galaxy S3
This method is similar to the previous step you performed on your phone the only difference is, this time we have to the delete the system files and data stored in the partition. In other words, we have to wipe the overall cache and data of the device so that fresher and compatible ones will be created. This is how you wipe the cache partition:
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume up key and Home key.
  4. When the Android System recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press and Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  7. With 'reboot system no' is highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.
Step 3: Create a backup and reset your phone
Since, wiping the cache partition didn't fix the problem the last option that you should do is to reset your phone. Meaning, you have to bring back your device to its factory default by deleting all stored files and data in the internal storage. But before you proceed to the steps, try to create a backup first or transfer all of it to your SD card or personal computer.
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and Home key.
  4. When the Android System recovery appears, release the Volume Up key and Home key.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  7. With 'reboot system now' highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.
I hope after resetting the issue will be resolved.
