Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 randomly shuts off 

In this article, I'll be discussing one of the emails that Samsung Galaxy S3 users were always complaining, in which, according to them that their device suddenly experiencing random shuts down even though they're just listening on music or browsing a web. So, to resolve this issue there are troubleshooting methods we prepared to rule-out all possibilities and fix the issue. Don't you worry, these steps won't ruin your phone nor delete your personal files saved in the internal storage. 

Considering that this issue occurred without apparent reason, then, there is a chance that this is just a minor-firmware problem. Here are the steps that you should perform to fix the issue. 

Step 1: Check if it's a battery problem

If the battery is defective and could not provide sufficient electricity to the hardware components that would be one of the factors that your phone suddenly shuts down. In this instance, we suggest that you should check it first by removing the battery and place it in a flat surface to see if the battery is swollen. Just flick the corner of the battery and if it spins easily, then, it is a battery issue and you should replace it to fix the problem. However, after checking and the battery is fine, proceed to the next method.

Step 2: Restart it in Safe Mode

In ruling-out this problem it is imperative that we should verify that all third-party apps are compatible and its not interfering the system and not causing the issue. This will disable all downloaded applications and letting the pre-installed ones run in the system. If your phone is not anymore crashing while in this state, then there's a culprit you need to uninstall to resolve the issue. To boot in safe mode,follow these steps:

1. Turn the device off.
2. Press and hold the Power button.
3. When Samsung Galaxy S3 appears, release the Power button.
4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key until the phone finished restarting.
5. "Safe Mode" will be displayed on the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Perform Master reset

But after uninstalling all suspected apps and your phone still crashing, then, this could be a serious firmware issue. In this case, we suggest you to perform a reset to remove all bugs that might preventing your phone from functioning normally. But before you do so, make sure that all your personal files are transferred to your personal computer or SD card because all of it will be deleted once you proceed to this method. 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue holding other two until the Android System Recovery appears.
4. Use the Volume Down button to highlight, 'Wipe cache partition' and press the Power button to select it.
5. When finished, use the Volume Down button to highlight 'wipe cache/factory reset' and press the Power button to select it.
6. Still use the Volume Down button to highlight 'delete all user data' and press and the Power button to select the option.
7. Once the master reset is finished, highlight 'reboot system now' and hit the Power button one more time.

So, if this is just a firmware-related issue, then it could be resolved after you do the reset.
