Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Crashing issue after System Update

Since, Marshmallow update was released lots of issues had been reported by Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users and one of it is system crashing, in which according to them that their device immediately crashed in the middle of call or even on standby mode. But if the device haven't been dropped or has liquid damage, there is a possibility that this is just a software-related problem. It could be the old files and data in the system were ruined during the update process or there were incompatible apps interfering the system that resulted the device to have an unstable performance.

So, in this troubleshooting guide, we will discuss the crashing issue and what are the reasons behind that this problem is happening. To begin with, here are the steps that you should do:

Step 1: Unmount the SD card from your Galaxy Note 4
If you have an SD card mounted on your phone, we suggest that you should remove it for the meantime for that may be the reason that the problem occurs. Although there is no assurance that the issue will be fixed after the method, but there were reports we received saying that after removing it their device back to its normal pace. However, after you remove it and your phone still crashing, you can proceed to the next procedure.

Step 2: Verify if there's a culprit causing the issue by booting it in Safe mode
If you downloaded an app before the issue started that may be the reason your Galaxy Note 4 is crashing. So, this time, we have to boot your phone in safe mode to verify if one of the apps you installed is rogue and conflicting the firmware. Take note, this step won't resolve the problem, instead, it will just disable all third-party apps and letting the built-in ones run in the system. But while in this state and your phone still crashing, then, it could be a serious firmware-issue is triggering it.
  1. Turn off the phone completely.
  2. Press and hold Power key and the Volume Down Key.
  3. When the phone starts to boot, release the Power key but continue holding the Volume Down key until the phone finished restarting.
  4. Safe mode will be display at the lower left corner; you may release the Volume Down key now.
Step 3: Create a backup and perform Master reset
Doing a reset is very useful especially if the device is experiencing serious firmware issue. This will remove all bugs and other malware that harm the firmware that resulted your Galaxy Note 4 to have an unstable performance. But remember, all your personal files in the internal storage will  be erased by this method, so, before you do the reset we suggest that you to first transfer all of it to your microSD card or personal computer so that you can easily restore everything once the problem is solved.
  1. Turn off the Galaxy Note 4 completely.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and the Home keys together, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power keys but continue holding the Volume Up key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery shows on the screen, release the Volume Up key.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight 'wipe data/factory reset' and press the Power key to select it.
  6. Now, highlight 'Yes-delete all user data' using the Volume Down key and press the Power key to begin the reset.
  7. When the master reset is complete, highlight 'Reboot system now' and it the Power key.
  8. The Note 4 will restart but it will be longer than usual. When it reaches the Home screen, then begin your setup.
Step 4: Bring your phone to the shop
However, if master reset didn't fix the problem, we recommend that you should bring your phone to the nearest accredited shop in your area so that it can be checked by the tech. And since this is not covered by warranty, therefore, you will be the one to pay for the parts needed and service fee for the technician.
