Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Using Selfie Mode (Rear-cam, front-cam, wide selfie)

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a Selfie Mode added to the pre-existing modes in its camera. It will help you take better self portraits. Photos taken under this mode remain as is; there will be no filters nor changes to the symmetry of the face.



Since Galaxy Note 4 has two cameras, there are also two ways to take a selfie depending on which camera you use.

Taking A Rear-Cam Selfie With Galaxy Note 4
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Camera icon. (In case there isn't a camera icon on the Home screen, tap the Apps icon instead and find Camera among other apps.)
  2. When the Camera app is running, tap MODE.
  3. Choose the option Rear-cam selfie mode. 
  4. You will be prompted with this message "The rear camera will automatically detect and focus on your face when you take self-portrait pictures."
  5. Tap OK.
  6. There will be a grid that you can drag around the screen. You can choose where your face will appear in the picture.
  7. The rear camera will start detecting your face and once it has found its focus, it will snap a picture after 2 seconds.
Taking A Selfie With Galaxy Note 4 Front Camera
  1. Launch the Camera app.
  2. Tap MODE and choose Selfie mode.
  3. Now tap the switch camera icon to activate the front camera.
  4. You will be prompted with this instruction "Tap the screen or place  your finger on the heart rate sensor on the back of the device to take selfies." The latter is the most convenient way to take selfies using the front camera.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. Now wait for the yellow circle to detect your face.
  7. Place your index finger on the heart rate sensor while the phone is still trying to find its focus.
  8. Once you are satisfied with your appearance on the screen, just lift your index finger for the phone to snap a selfie.
Taking A Group Selfie With Galaxy Note 4
  1. Launch the camera app and tap the switch camera icon.
  2. Tap MODE.
  3. Choose Wide selfie mode.
  4. Now tap the camera button.
  5. Swivel the camera around to the left and then to the right. Once the image capture process has completed, the image will be saved automatically.
Please note that all your selfies can be viewed in the Gallery.
