Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Add / Delete Widgets or Shortcuts, Change Home Screen and Lock Screen Wallpapers


This is just a simple tutorial on how to add and delete widgets or shortcuts as well as change both the Home screen and Lock screen wallpapers in your new Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The steps are pretty straightforward and if you were already acquainted with Android system, you can do these steps with your eyes close.



Adding a Widget or Shortcut

You can customize the Home screen in the Galaxy Note 4 and the most common thing you can do is add widgets or shortcuts to it.
  1. Swipe to the Home screen you want a widget or shortcut to be added.
  2. Tap a vacant area and hold your finger on the screen.
  3. Tap Widgets.
  4. Now find the widget or shortcut to an app and then touch and hold it.
  5. Drag your finger to the area where you want the widget or shortcut to appear.
  6. Release your finger.
Deleting a Widget or Shortcut

Whatever you add on  your Home screen, you can delete and the same is true with widgets and shortcuts pre-added or not.
  1. Swipe to the Home screen where the widget or shortcut you want to delete is located.
  2. Touch and hold the widget or the icon.
  3. Drag your finger over Remove.
  4. Release your finger and the widget or shortcut will be gone.
Changing Home Screen Wallpaper

The steps below will change the background picture you see on your Home screen.
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Find and tap on Settings.
  3. Scroll to SOUND AND DISPLAY section.
  4. Tap Wallpaper.
  5. Tap Home screen.
  6. Select an image provided at the bottom of the screen or you can tap From Gallery to choose from your photos.
  7. Choose the image you want to use as wallpaper on the Home screen.
  8. Tap Set as wallpaper.
Changing Lock Screen Wallpaper

The procedure below will change the background picture of the Lock screen on your Galaxy Note 4.
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Find and tap on Settings.
  3. Scroll to SOUND AND DISPLAY section.
  4. Tap Wallpaper.
  5. Tap Lock screen.
  6. You can choose an image at the bottom of the screen or choose from Gallery, Live weather, and My interests.
  7. Tap the image you want to use as wallpaper.
  8. Tap Set as wallpaper.
