How to use Mobile Device Unlock on Samsung Galaxy Avant T-Mobile variants

Samsung has recently released its new smartphone entrant to the Galaxy lineup called the Samsung Galaxy Avant. It's a new Galaxy handset that offers a 4.5-inch camera, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal memory. The phone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Avant is a modestly specced smartphone you can unlock.

Galaxy Avant arrives at T-Mobile

The Galaxy Avant is one of the newest variant included in T-Mobile's smartphone offers. And in line with that, the carrier has just released an official SIM unlocking application exclusively for Galaxy Avant devices.

Anyone who wants to use the Mobile Device Unlock app on their Samsung Galaxy Avant may refer to the following procedures, and let your device use a SIM card from another wireless carrier afterwards.

1. Go the Application list on your device and tap Device Unlock.

2. Tap Continue.

3. Wait until the phone connects to the server.

4. Select your preferred device unlock type. You will have two options to choose from, as follow:

  • Permanent unlock - this option permanently unlocks the device.
  • Temporary unlock-  this option temporarily unlocks the device for 30 days.

Hint:

When you go for temporary unlocks, be sure to perform it with a mobile data connection as wireless network won't work.

5. Wait until the device requests the unlock.

6. If successful, restart the phone. Doing so will apply the new settings you've made.

Otherwise, please contact T-mobile for further assistance.

For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen.
