Samsung Galaxy S5 Smart Scroll Is Not Working

Problem: Hi Harold! It's a nice website you have here. Continue what you're doing, you can help a lot of people. By the way, I have a slight problem with my new Galaxy S5. The Smart Scroll feature isn't working. The phone is new (barely a week old) and I haven't actually done something that could have triggered the issue. Can you walk me through fixing it, please? Thanks. -- Mich

Troubleshooting: There is no known bug that could have resulted to this problem but you still need to troubleshoot. First of all, make sure Smart Scroll is enabled: go to Applications > Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and interaction > Smart Scroll. After that, you need to check a few things that could have contributed to this problem:
  • Check the front camera for some  dirt or obstruction as it may not be able to detect your face and eyes.
  • Make sure the front camera isn't used by any application as there could be some conflicts.
  • Make sure you are in a well-lit environment and the light is in front of you.
  • If Air View is turned on, disable it.
  • Double-check for pop-up messages as they will freeze the phone's gesture capabilities unless you dismiss them.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Can't Recognize the SD Card

Problem: Hello Droidista. I have a little problem with my Galaxy S5. When I bought it, I also bought an SD card and it was working fine until yesterday. I don't know what happened but when I attempted to view my pictures, I can't and I got the error message or notification that said the SD card was unmounted…or something like that. I'm a noob and I'm still learning this phone. Help me please.

Troubleshooting: It could be just a minor issue with the SD card. Please go to Apps > Settings > General > Storage, and then check for the status of the SD card. If storage details aren't available, it means the phone cannot recognize or read from the card. The first course of action I want you to take is to reboot  your phone to refresh its memory and then follow the same procedure.

In case the problem persists after the reboot, turn off your phone, open the back portion and remove your SD card. Let your laptop or computer read from it and if it can, copy everything that's in it to make a backup. After that, format the SD card using FAT32 format. Once done, insert the card and check if the phone can read from it now. If not, buy a new SD card.

Samsung Galaxy S5 shows 'Unknown error by ErrorCallBack'

Problem: Hi Harold. My name is Jed and I just bought my Samsung Galaxy S5. It's actually an upgrade from Galaxy S4. By the way, every time I use Burst Shot mode or Shot & More mode when taking pictures, I get the error message that says "Unknown error by ErrorCallBack" and I don't have a single hint why this is happening. I mean the phone is pretty new and I can't take decent pictures because of this error. Can you help me fix this. Thanks.

Troubleshooting: That error message is triggered every time you use those two camera modes because of folder naming issue. The photos taken by your phone will be saved in "Camera" folder. The error pops up because that folder was named "camera" instead of "Camera" with capital C. So, to fix that, all you need to do is rename the folder to what it should be.
  1. Go to Apps, then select My files.
  2. Tap Device storage.
  3. Select DCIM.
  4. Touch and hold the camera folder icon.
  5. Now tap on the Option icon and choose Rename.
  6. Change the name from camera to Camera.
That should fix the issue.

Samsung Galaxy S5 shows error when downloading apps

Problem: Hello. Please help me with my problem. I have an S5 and it's more than a month. Everything was working great until yesterday when I attempted to download an application using Samsung apps--it's showing error code 103. I don't know how fix that as I never encountered that problem before. Please, if you have any idea how to fix this, let me know.

Solution: That error message pops up when the APK of the app you're trying to install is corrupt for some reason. You may need to download the app again and try if it still happens, clear the data of Samsung Apps, and then redownload the app. That works all the time as far as error code 103 is concerned. To clear data of the Samsung Apps, follow this…
  1. Go to Apps and then Settings.
  2. Tap Application Manager.
  3. Scroll to the right to view All tab.
  4. Scroll to and tap Samsung apps.
  5. Tap Clear Data, and the OK.

Samsung Galaxy S5 can't send MMS

Problem: Harold, how are you? My Galaxy S5 is working great in every aspect except one--MMS. I can't send a picture or a video. Do you know how to fix this?

Troubleshooting: There are two most common causes of this problem: first, the file you're sending is too big and second, your APN settings are incorrect.

The first thing you need to do is reduce the size of the picture you're sending or you can try sending a picture that is smaller in dimensions. If you can do that, then the problem is really with the size of the file you're sending. However, if you can't send a picture message regardless of how small or large the file is, then it could be an issue with your phone's APN Settings.

At this point, double-check if mobile data is turned on. MMS messages need to have an active mobile data connection to be sent or received. If you've done that already, call your service provider and ask for correct APN Settings. I hope this helps.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Like Samsung flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 also has a LED indicator located in the top-left corner in the front panel of your phone. The indicator emits three primary colors: Blue , Red and Green . The main purpose of the LED indicator is to notify you of the current condition or status of your phone. For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen. Believe it or not, it makes life a little easier if you knew the meaning of the colors and their rhythms.
