Enable Emergency Alerts on your Samsung Galaxy S5

While many people find it annoying, emergency alerts feature on your Samsung Galaxy S5 also offer some benefits. If you are among those who want to be always informed of hurricane warnings, AMBER alerts for missing people in your place, Presidential alerts and all other different kinds of emergency notifications, all you need to do is to enable Emergency Alerts tool on your device.


Below are the steps to enable/disable Emergency Alerts on your Samsung Galaxy S5 handset.



Note:

Turning on the Emergency Alerts tool on your phone will let you receive emergency alert messages. Here's how to turn it this feature ON:

1. Tap on Messages from any Home screen.

2. Tap on the Menu icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

3. Tap to select Settings from the  drop-down menu.

4. Scroll to and tap on Emergency Alerts to continue.

5. To set the types of alerts you want to push to your phone, tap on Emergency alerts.

6. Depending on your preference, check or unchecked boxes for the following options:

  • Imminent extreme alert
  • Imminent severe alert
  • AMBER alerts


Hint:

Presidential alerts, including potential terrorist threats and the like, are turned on or enabled automatically and cannot be disabled or turned off.
