Fixing Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth Problem

A quick search on Google about Samsung Galaxy S5 Bluetooth problems and you would get hundreds of results. Majority of them are complaints from owners who have a hard time connecting their new phone to their car. Others say they cannot keep the BT connection active between the car and the S5.

More often, if the problem is obvious and widespread especially when it is a hardware issue, Samsung is quick to acknowledge it. If such is the case, you could expect an update to fix the bug or whatever it is that causes the problem. Unfortunately, the company didn't acknowledge that the new Galaxy S5 has an issue with Bluetooth. That said, we cannot expect a patch, although it's obvious many are suffering from it.
MORE SOLUTIONS: Samsung Galaxy S5 Troubleshooting & Repair Guide

As of this writing, there is no definite solution to this problem, however, based on testimonies of users who may have encountered it, there are workarounds. It include having to clear both the cache and data of the Bluetooth service itself and to install a certain app if the first procedure fails.

Clear Bluetooth Cache and Data

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Find the Settings icon and tap on it.
  3. Scroll to Applications section and tap Application Manager.
  4. Swipe left or right to display contents of All tab.
  5. Scroll to and tap Bluetooth.
  6. Tap Force Stop button.
  7. Tap Clear Cache.
  8. Tap Clear Data, and then OK.
  9. Reboot your Galaxy S5.

After doing this procedure, pair your phone with your car or other BT devices and see if they can establish a good connection.

Now, to help you locking Bluetooth connection between your devices, download and install the Bluetooth Auto Connect application from the Play Store. Don't worry it's free and it's effective.

Before I forget, if it's your first time pairing your Bluetooth devices, set the phone to always allow the connection.

I hope it works for you. Good luck!
