READ: How to setup Microsoft Exchange email on Samsung Galaxy S5

Step 1: From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon and the Email app.

Step 2: Enter your email address and your password. I assume you already have an account, otherwise, you have to setup one before you follow this procedure.

After you entered your email address and password, you can either choose to tap Manual setup to manually enter server settings or Next to let the phone automatically search for those settings.

At this point, if the phone can find the server settings necessary for the account to be setup, then this tutorial ends here. Otherwise, you have to go through the rest of the process.

Step 3: The next screen will prompt you, if you tapped Manual setup, to choose the type of account you want to use. The options are POP3 account, IMAP account, and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

Let's choose POP3 account for this tutorial.

Step 4: You may now enter your incoming server settings, which include username, password, POP3 server, Security type, Port number, and the setting for Delete email from server.

Tap  the Next button once you're done. The phone will then try to connect to the incoming server to login, if the process was unsuccessful, you will be prompted to Edit details and try again.

Step 5: Once the phone successfully logged in to the incoming server, you will be brought to the Outgoing server settings and will be asked to enter SMTP server, Security type, Port number, Require sign-in, username and password.

Your phone will also attempt to connect to the outgoing server, if unsuccessful  you will have to edit and double-check the settings; if successful, you will be redirected to Account options screen.

Step 6: You will have to set Period to sync Email, Sync schedule, Peak schedule, Sync email, Notify me when email arrives, and Automatically download attachments when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Tap Next when done.

Step 7: The next screen will ask you to enter a unique on-screen name and the name you want to appear on outgoing messages.

Touch Done when complete.

At this point, the setting up of the POP email account is finished. You can follow these steps for IMAP.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Like Samsung flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 also has a LED indicator located in the top-left corner in the front panel of your phone. The indicator emits three primary colors: Blue , Red and Green . The main purpose of the LED indicator is to notify you of the current condition or status of your phone. For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen. Believe it or not, it makes life a little easier if you knew the meaning of the colors and their rhythms.
