Samsung Galaxy S5 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Smartphones are built in a way that people can easily understand them and one of the things most Android phones have is the LED indicator. Your new Samsung Galaxy S5 has sets of notification lights that would tell you what's happening inside the device even if the screen is off. In the top-left corner on the front of the phone is where the LED indicator was placed, although it sits beneath the glossy cover.

There are, basically, three colors the indicator would emit: blue, red and green. In this post, I will list down the meaning of each notification, although I have a feeling you already know them by heart. This is for the benefit of those who are still learning the ins and outs of their new phone.

Pulsating Blue - the LED will emit a brighter blue light that pulsates every time you turn your Galaxy S5 on or off. The light blinks rhythmically and dynamically that you could easily differentiate it from the normal, monotonous blink.

Blinking Blue - regardless whether the screen is on or off, the phone would have a blinking blue light when you have a missed call and received a new message. In other words, the blinking blue notification light will happen when you receive new notifications. The same thing happens when you’re recording voice.

Glowing Red - the LED indicator will have a steady red light when the phone is plugged to a charger and charging without any problem.

Blinking Red -  the phone will notify you when the battery is already low by emitting a blinking red light. It would also do the same when the phone is plugged to a charger but is not charging properly. This happens when the battery or the charging unit is defective.

Glowing Green - this notification light is a sign that your phone now has a full battery and is ready for use.

These notifications are the default ones. You can actually modify types of events you want your Galaxy S5 to notify you about by going to Apps > Settings > Display > LED indicator.

I hope this helps. Thanks for reading.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Like Samsung flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 also has a LED indicator located in the top-left corner in the front panel of your phone. The indicator emits three primary colors: Blue , Red and Green . The main purpose of the LED indicator is to notify you of the current condition or status of your phone. For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen. Believe it or not, it makes life a little easier if you knew the meaning of the colors and their rhythms.
