The newly-released Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn't have an FM Tuner that serves the purpose of the conventional radio tuners. That is why Samsung tried to compensate it with its new service known as Samsung Radio.
The service isn't the same as the FM Tuner we were used to, nonetheless, you can listen to your favorite stations and playlists using the app known to many as Milk Music. But basically, it is a streaming service. Needless to say, you need to have an active internet connection, either mobile data or Wi-Fi, to be able to listen to music.
Milk Music allows you to set songs you want to play based on factors like popularity or release date. You can also customize the dial to your preference by adding your favorite stations. And since it syncs with your Samsung account, your listening preferences will be saved in your account and can be accessed anytime, anywhere.
Please note that there are variants of the Samsung Galaxy S5 didn't come with Milk Music app. If this is the case with you, download and install the app from the Play Store. Don't worry, it's a free service.
As I mentioned earlier, you can create your own stations, which will be filed under My Stations in Milk Music. Here's how you create a station:
Here is the list of the options you can choose from when you're inside the Milk Music app or when tapping the More options button.
Favorite Song - you can label any song to be your 'favorite' to have it played more often.
Never Play Song - it removes a track from radio play.
Add to My Stations - it creates your preferred station based on the sub-genre you listen to.
Remove from My Stations - it deletes a custom station you created.
Create Station from Song - it creates a dedicated station based on the song you're listening to.
View Station Details - it provides description of the genre you listen to.
You can set Milk Music to stream with better audio quality, use your location, and turn on explicit content.
Samsung Account - its shows the email address you're using to login to your Samsung account. You may tap on Account details to open the screen that displays your account settings.
Audio Quality - you have to options: Standard and High.
Allow application to use my location - it allows Milk Music app to access location data.
Explicit Content - touch On to allow songs with explicit content to play on your stations.

Setting Up Milk Music
Please note that there are variants of the Samsung Galaxy S5 didn't come with Milk Music app. If this is the case with you, download and install the app from the Play Store. Don't worry, it's a free service.
- From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Find and tap the Milk Music icon.
- If this is your first time to use the app, you will need to accept its Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
- With Milk Music already running, just tap on the screen to launch the dial.
- To choose a genre, you can drag your finger on the outer dial where the names of genres are located. Or, you can directly tap on the genre itself.
- When you have selected a genre, the music will continue playing. You can pause or skip music tracks by tapping one of the buttons below the screen.
- If you want to customize the dial, touch the Action Bar icon on the upper-right side of the screen.
Creating My Stations
As I mentioned earlier, you can create your own stations, which will be filed under My Stations in Milk Music. Here's how you create a station:
- Tap the Action Bar at the upper-right side of the screen.
- Touch Create Station.
- Now type the name of a song or artist and choose from the list of matching options.
- Once you have created or added your stations, you can manage them by tapping Manage My Stations.
- Tap More options next to the station you want to manage.
- To make changes to the station, tap Edit Station and then touch Edit.
- If you want to delete it, touch Remove from My Stations.
More Options
Here is the list of the options you can choose from when you're inside the Milk Music app or when tapping the More options button.
