Two Ways to Mirror / Connect Samsung Galaxy S5 to HDTV

UPDATE: I just published Three Other Ways To Connect / Mirror Samsung Galaxy S5 To Your HDTV to give you three other options to connect  your Galaxy S5 to your TV.

Like its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S5 can also be connected to your HDTV to mirror whatever it is that  you want to play on your phone and mirror it on a larger screen. The thing, the hardware configuration on Samsung's flagships was changed since the Galaxy S3. Thus, you will need to have a specialized adapter so you can mirror your phone to your TV set--this is for the wired connection. In case you want to mirror wirelessly, you need to purchase a much expensive equipment called AllShare Cast Wireless Hub. Samsung, as expected, sells both the specialized adapter, known to many as the Samsung HDTV Smart Adapter, and the AllShare Cast Wireless Hub.

Wired Mirroring

Pre-requisites
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 and its charger
  • HDTV
  • An HDMI cable
  • HDTV with HDMI port(s)
  • Samsung HDTV Smart Adapter
How to connect

Step 1: Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port at the back (or side) of your HDTV and the other end to the HDMI port on the adapter.

Step 2: Hold the charger and plug the microUSB to the port on the adapter and plug the charger to the electricity source. This will power the adapter up.

Step 3: Now, plug the microUSB connector from the adapter to the microUSB port on your Samsung Galaxy S5.

Step 4: Set the TV to display the picture fed through the HDMI port where you plug the HDMI cable.

Your HDTV will immediately mirror what's on your phone screen.

Wireless Mirroring

Pre-requisites
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 and its charger
  • HDTV
  • AllShare Cast Wireless Hub
  • An HDMI cable
How to connect

Step 1: Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the port at the back of your TV, and the other to the HDMI port on the AllShare Cast Wireless Hub.

Step 2: Plug the microUSB connector of the charger to the port on the wireless hub and plug it to an approved power source. The hub's status indicator will now start blinking. Press the Reset button on the hub to make it ready.

Step 3: On your Galaxy S5, tap the Apps icon from the Home screen and then choose Settings. Under CONNECT AND SHARE section tap Screen Mirroring.

Step 4: If the wireless hub is ready, your phone can detect it and it's name often starts with the word "Dongle." Tap on it and you're good to go.

Your HDTV will now display whatever it is that you want to mirror. Enjoy!

I hope these tutorials have somehow helped you. Thanks for reading.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Notification Lights and their Meaning

Like Samsung flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 3 also has a LED indicator located in the top-left corner in the front panel of your phone. The indicator emits three primary colors: Blue , Red and Green . The main purpose of the LED indicator is to notify you of the current condition or status of your phone. For example, you missed a notification, the phone would emit light with a pattern to tell you about it without actually unlocking the screen. Believe it or not, it makes life a little easier if you knew the meaning of the colors and their rhythms.
