Samsung Galaxy S3 replaces typed words after Android 4.3 update

Does your Samsung Galaxy S3 replace every word you type after you updated it to Android 4.3? Don't worry, there's a solution for that. Basically, it's not a problem with the phone, it's actually a feature built to help people make it easier and faster to type words, that is if you're typing the entire word when you text. If you're not, then it is very annoying.

In case you haven't been experiencing this problem before the 4.3 update, it could be that the option was disabled. This post is not about fixing the issue because it's no problem at all. Rather, it is about how to disable the feature back.

Without further ado, here's a simple procedure you can follow to turn it off:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings, and the My Device tab.
  3. Touch Language and input.
  4. Tap the Settings icon (cogwheel) next to the Samsung Keyboard.
  5. Find Auto replacement option and just slide the toggle switch to turn it Off.

For owners who want to use the feature have words they simply want corrected or replaced, try adding the words to Galaxy S3's dictionary so they will appear as options. Here's how you do that:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Touch Settings, and the My Device tab.
  3. Touch Language and input.
  4. Tap the Settings icon (cogwheel) next to the Samsung Keyboard.
  5. Tap Predictive Text.
  6. The next screen will show you the list of your words and how you can add new ones.

So, I guess that's pretty much it. Again, it's no problem...it's just a matter of disabling the feature. Have a great day!
